Scholarship Grants in the Philippines

Education is very important, this is why the Philippine government is doing its best to provide free education by means of different programs. Using your research skills, you will discover many helpful programs that can be very helpful your kids education with basic financial aid. Private schools in the Philippines is quite expensive nowadays and every year due to increasing necessity costs, tuition fee also tends to increase rapidly. Some private schools are considerate to gradually implement increase but most of them just implement increase at the star of school year.

This post aims to bring information about grants, scholarships and free education in the Philippines. If you are searching for a financial aid to pursue your or your kids education then you are reading the right article. I'm also living in an average status, I cannot consider my self as rich so I'm not capable of paying expensive tuition fees for my children. My kids currently enrolled in Public school, my two girls in regular school and my boy who has difficulties in socialization and currently under the home schooling program (MISOSA) in the same public school.

Here are some of the helpful public education programs that offers free education and financial support for unfortunate but bright students.

Scholarships from the commission on Higher Education (CHED)- the Commission on Higher Education or CHED provides scholarships for excellent students entering to College. this scholarship is intended for high school graduates whose general average is not below 85%. The aspiring individuals should enroll to identified priority courses.

Grants In Aid (GIA) Tulong Dunong (TD) -this aid is intended for High School graduates or graduating High School students with at least passing grade.

New Zealand ASEAN Scholarships - this program offers scholarships to people in developing country like the Philippines. New Zealand ASEAN Scholarships are available for Post Graduate certificate (6 months), post graduate Diploma (1 year), Master's Degree (1-2 years) and PhD (1-2 years). ALS- The Alternative Learning System (ALS) is a  non-formal education program in the Philippines for dropouts in elementary and secondary schools, out-of-school youths, non-readers, working Filipinos and even senior citizens and is totally free.There are two major programs on ALS that are being implemented by the Department of Education, through the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS). One is the Basic Literacy Program and the other is the Continuing Education Program both accredited by the Department of Education. To learn more about ALS, visit DepEd.
