There are many advantages of being a Freelance contractor most especially for moms like me who chose to stay at home and be a hands-on mom.  Most mommy bloggers can be considered as WAHM, they manage to watch their kids grow while helping their husbands in providing a good life for the family. Most WAHMs I know, they earn money from blogging which is the easiest way to earn at home. Mommy bloggers earn from advertisers who find their blogs interesting.  However, if someone has no talent in writing, being a Freelance contractor is their last and wisest choice.

How to start an online career – Starting an online career is not as easy as you thought.  5. Onlinejobs.ph - is founded by John Jonas from Utah. John and his team were inspired to establish Onlinejobs after working with Filipino virtual assistants whom according to them made their work easier. The founder believes that Filipino workers are talented and very dependable, this is why they established Onlinejobs to help many Filipinos find their dream job and likewise give their colleagues a great chance to experience working with talented Filipino virtual assistants.

4.Rarejob – considered as the biggest online English school in Japan and in the Philippines. RareJob provides online English lessons to Japanese students and home-based job to Filipinos. 3. Guru - I've tried Guru several times. I've got 3 successful hourly contracts with them and I've received payment through Paypal (my chosen mode of payment) Unlike Upwork, Guru has only limited job posts this is why I rarely get successful contracts with them. You can also check the client's and contractor's credibility by stars, 5 stars means great performance and again, I'm lucky to collect perfect ratings.

2. Elance - Elance is my second best choice. Free to join but if you want to have more than one category to apply, you need to upgrade your membership and pay the required fee. Every minute, there are new job opportunities posted and most of the time, clients pay higher rate compare to other online workplace. I only got one successful contract with Elance and my very first client was too busy to leave a feedback score although I've successfully completed the contract. Over-all, Elance is a great online workplace, very transparent and always deliver fresh job opportunities. Elance and Upwork merged as one big online workplace company.

1. Upwork - Formerly oDesk. I've been an Upwork contractor for almost five years now and this is my primary source of income. Upwork stays on the top among online workplaces today. With its new upgraded system, Upwork still managed to keep their contractors protected. What I like about the enhanced system is their "Top Rated Freelancers" feature and I'm very lucky to be one. Being a Top Rated Freelancer, I've got a higher opportunity to be invited for a newly posted job. Odesk recruiter also notify and invite me to apply for a job that matches to my profile. Upwork's payment is protected by Escrow and hourly jobs are 100% guaranteed.
